Just a couple of things going on lately.
First, my three month contract at LargeHFCSco was not renewed after 50 months into the assignment. While it wasn’t a bad gig, it had gotten too comfy and I wasn’t going anywhere with it. So I’m currently casting about for a new magic elf box tending job. If you have any leads in central NC, lemme know.
Which lead to me accepting an offer to regularly post at the GunUp Magazine blog. Needless to say, most of my gun related posts will appear there instead of here, except for oddball or personal stuff they wouldn’t be interested in. They also are correctly disinterested in cooking, politics or wide ranging prognostication, so expect to see more of that here. And be sure to check out the print magazine (also available for iTunes device, Android or Kindle), especially the December issue. HINT HINT.
I’ll be lying if I said this wasn’t unexpectedly stressful and a burden. Posting whatever I want, when I want, because I want is one thing. Having to be responsible to others is something else entirely. I’m also not sure I’ll ever get used to only one space after a period.
When Caleb told me he was leaving a lucrative insurance practice to take a flyer on a new media, internet 2.0 startup, I called him crazy. He described GunUp to me, and I didn’t see it. I’m starting to see it now, and if what they have planned comes to pass, they will have accomplished something remarkable.
