So I went and shot a High Power match this past Saturday. I slept for about 6 hours the previous day, worked a 12 hour shift, drove an hour to the range, then waited around an hour for things to get started. Needless to say, by the end of festivities I was pretty beat. But I did much better than I expected, considering I hadn’t shot anything in months, and my M14 in over a year. I was especially pleased with shooting a 170 during the standing portion, which has traditionally been my weakest. But a combination of fatigue, sudden cockiness, and my goddamn eye protection repeatedly and rapidly fogging up meant that my score for the successive stages kept going down. It’s kind of hard to keep them in the black when you see two of them. Anyway, I was not last, but it was close!
So, lazyweb, please recommend me a set of reasonably priced eye protection that is less likely to obscure my vision when I start sweating? I have already been instructed to procure a Sweat Gutr, but I’m a belt and suspenders kinda guy, and between the NC summer and my own evolved for Nordic conditions head furnace, they will probably fog up anyway.
I’m not afraid of spending a little coin, but $125 Ruby Projects are right out.
