Someone Got Told!

Hey guys, remember that dipshit stupid Tactical Response “training video” going around a while back where the students engaged in a drill best described as “Don’t shoot the cameraman”?

Well, an organization of trainers with significant clue just weighed in:

A number of IALEFI members have voiced their concern regarding the exceptionally unsafe firearms training practice demonstrated in a video which has seen widespread distribution recently featuring James Yeager who purports to be an IALEFI member.

Although Yeager claims to be a member of IALEFI on his web site our records confirm that he is not a current member nor has he ever been a member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, Inc. The precarious procedures and practices displayed in this video defies all intelligent logic and are not worthy of comment as they speak for themselves. Furthermore, his follow up to this complete act of idiocy in an attempt to justify his actions again speaks for itself and does not merit any comment.

I have removed Tactical Response from my list of recommended training companies. There are valid training reasons to have people ahead of the firing line, but they are done under tightly controlled conditions for very specific goals that cannot be accomplished other ways. Getting pictures is not a good reason to put someone ahead of the firing line! If Yeager had simply admitted this was poor judgment on the photographer’s part it would be one thing, but the shabby way in which he has dodged responsibility, slandered detractors and outright lied in order to defend these decisions reflects extremely poorly on him and the entire training community.

There are other places to learn the ballistic martial arts that aren’t led by people of low character. I recommend you choose them instead.

Good grief, there was no excuse for that. I have a 24-year-old camera with a focus priority shutter-release and a 16-foot remote cord.

I’m looking hard at which schools deserve my money and which don’t. Why is John Farnam on your recommend list, while Gabe Suarez and Bill Rogers are not?
