CMMG can hook you up with a 16″ M4 profile flat top with telestock for a mere $550 plus shipping and transfer. You’ll need to add a rear sight, and the barrel isn’t chrome lined, but I don’t think you could put together a kit gun for less.
I would normally be suspicious of such a low dollar carbine, but CMMG is good peoples.
